Meet Jessie

Jessie is a Wollongong-based Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner supporting participants across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands, Goulburn and surrounding communities. Jessie is passionate about people and has spent her career supporting children, young people, adults and families experiencing complex trauma, disability, mental health challenges and safeguarding concerns. With over five years of experience across Out of Home Care, the Children's Court and Behaviour Support, she works with people of all ages and backgrounds but has a particular passion for supporting children through to young adults with more complex experiences and presentations, including those needing restrictive practice reduction or ongoing oversight.

Originally from the country town of Hay, in rural NSW Jessie understands firsthand what it's like to live in a world where access to therapeutic and specialist supports aren't available for the people who need them most. Jessie shares the lived experience of neurodivergence and chronic health challenges, giving her a unique understanding that every person's brain, body and journey through life is different and she knows what it feels like to feel isolated and disconnected from the world around you both physically and emotionally.

Jessie is a clinician who prioritises building a genuine connection with each and every person she works with, to understand what brings them joy, what causes pain, what motivates them, what challenges they face and what a meaningful life looks like from their perspective. She enjoys thinking outside the box and creating therapeutic strategies, resources and supports that are genuinely personalised to a person's strengths, interests, lifestyle, culture, values, family, and support network. For Jessie, the best supports are the ones that fit seamlessly into a person's everyday life because they were designed with them, not for them. This understanding forms the foundation of her Functional Behaviour Assessments, Comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support Plans and clinical reports, that align with NDIS Practice Standards and Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements, that remain creative, personalised and feel for the client first. She enjoys helping participants, their families, schools, support systems and allied health networks connect and communicate across different generations, values, cultures or life experiences to holistic and collaborative support systems that all work together as one big ecosystem to support her clients and believes that meaningful support happens through curiosity, compassion, culture and connection.
