Lamis is a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner and Counsellor with a strong passion for supporting individuals with complex needs to improve their quality of life. With over six years of experience working within the disability and mental health sector, primarily within the NDIS framework, she has supported children, adolescents, and adults across home, school, and community environments.
Her approach is practical, person‑centred, and grounded in Positive Behaviour Support principles, focusing on understanding the function behind behaviours of concern and working closely with families, support teams, and multidisciplinary professionals to implement strategies that are realistic, consistent, and effective. Lamis aims to create structured, supportive environments that reduce distress, build independence, and promote long‑term skill development.

With a Master’s degree in Counselling and a background in Psychology, she brings a strong understanding of emotional regulation, mental health, and family dynamics into her work. She prioritises building genuine, trusting relationships and supporting not only the participant but also the people around them through education, training, and ongoing guidance.

Lamis specialises in Positive Behaviour Support within the NDIS, including the development and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans, Functional Behaviour Assessments, and ongoing therapeutic intervention. She has experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and complex behaviours of concern such as aggression, emotional dysregulation, anxiety‑related behaviours, and restrictive or repetitive behaviours.

She works collaboratively with families, schools, and support teams to ensure consistency across environments and provides practical strategies, staff training, and ongoing review to support meaningful and sustainable outcomes.

Lamis is passionate about helping individuals feel understood, supported, and capable, believing that all behaviour has meaning and aiming to reduce distress by teaching safer, more effective ways to communicate needs and manage emotions. She values empowering families and support networks with the tools and confidence they need to provide consistent and compassionate support.

Lamis has strong knowledge and experience across the NDIS framework, including Behaviour Support Plan development, restrictive practice identification and reduction, data‑informed practice, and multidisciplinary collaboration. She regularly provides training to support workers, school staff, and families, ensuring all supports align with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.

Her areas of specialisation include Positive Behaviour Support, Functional Behaviour Assessments, Behaviour Support Plans, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, intellectual disability, emotional regulation and anxiety, trauma‑informed practice, school‑based behaviour support, parent and carer training, and restrictive practice reduction.
