WANTED: Legendary Team Member With Experience in provision of High Physical and Behaviours of Concern
NSW – Various Locations throughout the Central Coast and Hunter
Pay: Enough to keep your dog in designer outfits
Hours: PPT - Flexible (because energy, access needs, and life vary)
Are you someone with significant disability who:
✅ Has experience with supporting participants with reduced or no vision, provision of personal care and non-verbal communication
✅ Knows how to make a very important cup of tea (or can direct someone exactly how to do it)
✅ Has a heart bigger than Sydney Harbour
✅ Laughs at terrible puns? (Essential)
Then STOP SCROLLING — this role is made for you.
About the Role
We’re looking for a staff with experience and qualifications in disability support to join our team in a role that values who you are, not what you can “push through.”
This position is designed to be accessible, flexible, and support-inclusive within the scope of the participants needs and support requirements.
Lived experience is acknowledged and supported as is a good work life balance.
Your Legendary Strengths Might Include:
🦸♀️ Using your experiences either lived or learnt to shape how we move forward with the provision of the right supports.
🦸 Helping shape inclusive services (because you actually know what works)
🦸 Communicating in all ways possible and supporting participants to do the same.
🦸 Turning everyday moments into “yeah, this feels safe and human” moments
🦸 Being yourself — authentically, unapologetically, access needs and all
(Cape optional. Support workers welcome.)
What We Offer:
✨ Flexible hours and pacing that respects fatigue, pain, mental health, and access needs
✨ A team that understands disability isn’t something to “fix”
✨ PPT contracts that provide some stability in a world where this is often not found
✨ Training and support provided in accessible formats
✨ Clients and colleagues who value lived experience
✨ combined 50+ years of experience to help you grow and develop as a support worker
Must-Haves:
• NDIS Worker Check (or willing to get it)
• First Aid Cert and CPR (knowing how to slap on a Band-Aid doesn’t count)
• Reliable transport (your scooter counts if it has flames painted on it)
• WWCC
• Experience working with behaviours of concern
• Experience working with High Physical disability participants and a proven track record of such support.
• Minimum 2 years industry experience and/or Cert III in any welfare field
• A sense of humour, patience, and the ability to work with people who don’t always want to be morning people.
