Practice Lead (NDIS Services)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced disability professional to step into a leadership role focused on mentoring teams, driving service quality, and ensuring participants receive person-centered, high-quality support aligned with the NDIS Practice Standards.

 

About the Role

The Practice Lead is responsible for providing operational and practice leadership across a portfolio of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and community-based services.

Working closely with the operational leadership team, the Practice Lead will support frontline employees, drive participant outcomes, oversee service quality, and foster a positive team culture that reflects our values.

The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic oversight and is suited to someone who enjoys coaching others, solving complex challenges, and championing best-practice disability support.

 

Key Responsibilities

Practice Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to support teams.
  • Coach and mentor employees to improve practice and participant outcomes.
  • Promote person-centered, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Support staff development, performance and capability building.

Participant Outcomes

  • Ensure participants receive supports aligned with their goals and NDIS plans.
  • Support positive behavior support implementation and restrictive practice compliance.
  • Assist with complex participant matters and service delivery challenges.
  • Maintain strong relationships with participants, families, advocates and stakeholders.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure services operate in line with NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators.
  • Support incident management, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Conduct service audits, observations and quality reviews.
  • Monitor documentation, reporting and record-keeping standards.

Operational Support

  • Support workforce planning and roster sustainability with the Roster and Transition Coordinator
  • Assist with participant transitions, onboarding and service commencement.
  • Collaborate with Senior Support Workers and stakeholder teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the region.

 

What We're Looking For

We are seeking individuals who demonstrate:

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years' experience within disability, mental health, community services or human services.
  • Demonstrated leadership or senior support experience.
  • Strong understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and participant safeguarding.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex support needs.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Highly Desirable

  • Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Community Services, Disability, Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
  • Experience in Supported Independent Living (SIL).
  • Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Investigation, incident management or quality assurance experience.
