We are seeking an experienced male Support Worker to join our team supporting a 54-year-old man living with disability in Wynumm, QLD.

About the role:

  • Casual position, with the potential to be permanent part-time
  • Community access shifts: Monday – Sunday shifts currently available from 9:00am – 2:00pm — Shift may include using public transport, movies, Sailability, trips to the beach, and other community outings
  • In-home Supported Independent Living (SIL) shifts also available
  • This role may progress into ongoing work within the participant's SIL home, supporting him alongside his co-tenant
  • Supporting a client who is non-verbal, living with ASD Level 3, an intellectual impairment, and OCD
  • Full medication support required
  • Personal care required, including shower and toileting support
  • A Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Plan is in place, and consistency in implementing strategies is essential

About you:

  • Must hold, or currently be studying, a relevant qualification (e.g. Certificate III/IV in Disability, Individual Support, or similar)
  • Experience working with clients who are non-verbal and/or have complex behaviour support needs
  • Experience supporting individuals with ASD, intellectual disability, and/or OCD
  • Confidence and experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies (Training provided)
  • Comfortable providing full medication support and personal care assistance
  • Patient, calm, and consistent approach to communication and support
  • Clear, confident English communication skills required
  • Willing to pick up additional shifts to cover for other team members when needed
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
